Agriculture: US 2014

Our second program in Louisville, in partnership with SOURCE, the Blue Sky Network, Radicle Capital, and the Owsley Brown Charitable Foundation, provided ten early-stage ventures with business development training and mentorship from industry experts and investors.

Village Capital recruited ventures that 1) increased the resource efficiency of the agricultural supply chain; 2) made crop production more efficient or optimized the use of inputs; 3) increased the productivity of small farms; and/or 4) enabled the aggregation and distribution of food using fewer natural resources.

Selected feedback from entrepreneurs:

  •  “Introducing us to Louisville has been great. I would never have come to the city and would definitely consider opening an office here as my company grows. This is directly because of the program.”
  •  “Thank you to Joseph, Candice, Ulili, Abi, and everyone at Village Capital for working to create an uplifting, friendly, and supportive environment where cohort members feel comfortable engaging and sharing feedback with each other.”
  •  “Most liked: Stakeholder forum; Stakeholders’ feedback prompted deeper discussion on sales strategy and overcoming logistical challenges of product delivery to market.”

“Hands down, Village Capital facilitates the best program in demonstrating the value of vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems.”
