Gabriela Zapata is a financial inclusion consultant with over 20 years' experience in related project design, implementation and management and public policy development in Latin America, Africa and Asia. She was Senior Program Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in Seattle and Director of Promotion of Financial Organizations at the Ministry of Agriculture in Mexico. She is involved in various projects focusing on applied product innovation and user-centered design, access channels, behavioral sciences and pension savings, product cross-sell, and financial capabilities with MetLife Foundation, CGAP, Bankable Frontier Associates, Center for Financial Inclusion/ACCION, among others. She's an advisor to various private and public institutions involved in financial inclusion, including fintech startups. She holds a Master's degree in International Agriculture and Rural Development from Cornell University and lives in Mexico City.
