Ariana Gomez currently directs the Centre of Excellence in Innovation for Gentera, an organization focused on financial services for the underserved. Together with her team, Ariana is looking to expand current models while generating disruption through new business models, and sees working with the entrepreneurial ecosystem and Fintech startups as key to achieving both of these goals. Her professional and personal priority is to work towards improving the quality of life of people at the base of the pyramid as well as promoting social mobility and financial inclusion. In Mexico she has been in charge of many projects focused on strategy, entrepreneurship, social innovation, public policies for development, education, environmental planning, and health initiatives for local and multinational organizations. Before working in Mexico, Ariana has lived and worked around the world for institutions such as Amref, UNICEF, World Bank, World Resources Institute, the German Embassy and the office of Mayor of London. Additionally, She co-founded and directed Fundación Baja una Estrella A.C, an institution focused on self-sustainability of lower income communities as well as founding several other social impact organizations. She has written for a wide variety of publications, is a board member of two foundations and also advises Greenpeace, PETA and Animal Earth. Ariana speaks 7 languages and enjoys reading, traveling, painting, cooking, playing tennis and spending time with her family, friends, and rescued animals. Ariana studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics at the University of York, is a teacher in Economic and Social Development at LSE and has an executive MBA from IPADE.
