Village Capital has teamed up with eBay Foundation to solve major barriers to financial services and technologies for underserved populations. Selected ventures will participate in our award-winning accelerator program, where they will receive mentorship from local business leaders and investors, as well as business development training to successfully scale their ventures.
Sessions will cover creating a stronger value proposition, business fundamentals, and preparation for scale. The program will also feature events where entrepreneurs will have face-to-face meetings with investors and potential customers.
The program also features $100,000 of pre-committed investment, with $50,000 each for the top two enterprises. Through our highly successful peer-selection model, the entrepreneurs themselves will determine which two companies receive investment at the end of the program. The program is structured as three, intensive four-day sessions over 3 months, with additional remote collaboration online between sessions.
Workshop Dates are as follows:
Workshop 1 (Bay Area): May 14-17
Workshop 2 (Salt Lake City): June 16-19
Workshop 3 (Bay Area): July 21-24 (Venture Forum on July 23)
