Whitney manages the agriculture initiatives at Village Capital where she engages and supports agriculture entrepreneurs who are developing inclusive, sustainable methods to grow, process and distribute agricultural goods. Whitney was first drawn to agriculture while working in Tanzania for a microfinance institution, witnessing firsthand the importance of agriculture worldwide and opportunity and need for innovation. Upon returning to the U.S., Whitney worked at Earthbound Farm- the largest grower, marketer and distributor of organic produce company in the U.S. She spent four years at Earthbound working first in product innovation and then in managing a new global fruit import department. Whitney earned her M.Sc. at UC Davis in International Agricultural Development with a specialization in Agricultural Resource Economics. She also holds a B.A. in International Relations. Whitney is based in Louisville, KY.
