Michele Rivard is a Fellow with Village Capital, and is focused on strategy, clean water innovations, and access to affordable debt finance. Most recently, she established and led the U.S. African Development Foundation’s entrepreneurship grant program and directed over $3 million in grant funding to young entrepreneurs who are building social and business ventures, creating jobs, and impacting their communities. Prior to serving as Director of Special Initiatives, she was Chief of Staff and Liaison to the Board of Directors. Her professional background includes management consulting in New England, merchant banking in Ukraine, and foreign direct investment promotion in Central Europe, Russia and Kazakhstan. Michele holds degrees from Dartmouth College and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.
