Bidisha heads non-US programs, thought leadership, and ecosystem building initiatives at Village Capital. She was previously Head of Product Management at Simpa Networks, which sells solar energy solutions to energy-poor households in India using a pay-as-you-go digital platform. Bidisha joined Simpa in Bangalore, India at an early stage and wore many hats to grow the business, from building international partnerships to spearheading a new market launch to ultimately leading the product management team and bringing the company to unit profitability. Before entering the startup world, she worked in policymaking as top energy policy adviser to U.S. Senator Al Franken, specializing in development and deployment of renewable energy technologies and business models. She has a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard University and a BA in Economics from St. Olaf College.
