Betsy Foster joined Whole Foods Market in 1994. She is an alumnus of the University of Alabama where she earned her undergraduate in Computer Science and she later obtained her MBA from the University of Houston in Finance and International Business in the evenings while working full time. For over 20 years she has held several positions within Whole Foods Market including National Operations Controller, VP and Chief Information Officer, VP of Purchasing, Distribution and Private Label, and has been in her current position for over 10 years as Global Vice President of Growth and Business Development. In addition, she served as CFO of the company’s internet business, Whole People.com, based out of Colorado. In her current position she oversees all mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, strategic partnerships, dark space, real estate for offices and facilities, lease administration, the Local Producer Loan Program and the Strategic Equity Investment Fund. In addition, she oversees Whole Foods Market's Healthy Eating initiatives including immersion programs, and she oversaw the development and current operations for Whole Foods Market’s first Medical and Wellness Center in Glendale, CA which offers primary care, as well as diet and lifestyle support, to team members and their dependents free of charge.
Betsy also is passionate about children and their health and serves as the Board Chair for Marathon Kids Inc. She serves on the Community Advisory Board for the Junior League of Austin. She also serves on several company Boards that Whole Foods Market has invested in.
Prior to joining Whole Foods Market, she worked for Exxon in both Houston and LA in various IT and financial roles. When not working, Betsy enjoys spending time with her children, as well as fishing, healthy eating cooking and exercising.
